Al- Sudani to Macron by Phone: International Community and Major Powers Must Work to Stop the War
The Prime Minister's Media Office said in a statement: "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani received a phone call from French President Emmanuel Macron, during which they discussed the latest developments in the region."
According to the statement, al-Sudani emphasized: "The importance of intensifying efforts to stop military operations. The international community, its institutions and organizations, in addition to major powers, must work to stop the war, prevent further escalation, and reject the targeting and displacement taking place in Lebanon, in order to preserve the stability and development of the region."
President Macron praised Iraq's efforts to prevent the conflict from escalating and commended the Prime Minister's call for prioritizing dialogue and diplomacy, and resorting to negotiation to resolve any international or regional issue.
The French President emphasized the importance of joint action between his country and the Iraqi government to prevent the war from spreading and to mitigate its repercussions on the countries of the region. /End
