Iranian judiciary issues summonses for those involved in the attack on Iraqi students in Semnan
Akbari told the Iranian news agency IRNA, "Two individuals involved in the clash that occurred in front of the residence of Iraqi students at Semnan University have been identified." He explained that "the judicial investigation is ongoing to identify all those responsible for this incident, and those involved will be dealt with according to the law."
He added, "Following a clash between a number of citizens and some Iraqi students in the vicinity of their residence, the matter was immediately placed on the agenda of the judicial and security apparatus in the province."
He continued, "The provincial prosecutor has issued summonses, and so far, two individuals involved in this incident have been identified and summoned before the relevant security authorities. Investigations are continuing to identify the remaining individuals who influenced the clash."
Akbari pointed out that "what some of these media outlets published about the incident does not correspond to the reality of the matter and the results of the initial investigations. The dimensions of the incident must be assessed based on official reports and the supplementary investigations being conducted by the relevant authorities."
The head of the judiciary in Semnan province affirmed that "the judicial system in the province is seriously pursuing the dimensions of this incident, and that—after the investigations are completed—all individuals proven to have played a role in this clash and the disruption of public order and security will be dealt with legally and judicially."
