Istanbul /NINA/ - The Turkish Anadolu Agency announced that its correspondent in Damascus and a correspondent for the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) were injured by a landmine explosion in the Latakia countryside.
The Turkish Agency reported that its correspondent in Damascus, Şevket Akça, and the correspondent for the official Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), Hassan Hashem, along with a Syrian army soldier who was with them, lost a leg in the explosion while the Syrian army was conducting a mine-clearing operation in the Latakia countryside.
It is worth noting that the Bashar al-Assad regime planted mines along the borders of the areas it controlled in the Latakia countryside to prevent opposition forces from advancing towards its positions. /End
